Who is M’agine Support Services?

M’agine Support Services is a state-certified provider of HCS and TxHmL waiver services. M’agine Support Services was founded in 2011 by a group of local mental health professionals who have a combined work experience of over 64 years, in the area of rehabilitative and support services for individuals with developmental and mental disabilities. Our employment histories have included positions in direct care and administrative positions in both the public and private sectors and even as a university psychology professor.

What are HCS waiver services?

A waiver service is a Medicaid-funded ‘support’ or ‘service’ provided to a person with developmental and/or physical disabilities outside of an institutional setting and under specific federal or state guidelines. To be eligible for HCS Program Services, a person must:

  • Be eligible for supplemental security income (SSI) or be in one of the optional categorical coverage; groups as specified in the HCS Waiver Renewal Request;
  • Be eligible for an ICF/MR I, V, or VI levels of care;
  • Have a determination of mental retardation in accordance with state law;
  • Have an Individual Plan of care for waiver services that do not exceed state limits and have made a choice of the HCS Program over the ICF/MR Program, and;
  • Not be enrolled in another 1915c waiver program.

What program services will I, or my loved one, receive?

The HCS program provides each individual with an array of available services, including case management, residential support, nursing, and specialized therapies. The Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), which includes the individual and/or LAR, family members, the M’agine Support Services, case manager, the program nurse, and any invited collaterals, will review the individual’s needs and desire to develop a truly person-directed plan.

Aren’t all HCS providers the same?

While most HCS program providers offer identical waiver services under the same DADS guidelines, M’agine Support Services provides these support services with the following beliefs:

  • Each individual has the right to self-determination.
  • Training and care should be provided in a cost-effective, appropriate, and timely manner.
  • Confidentiality and privacy should be respected and maintained at all times.
  • Individual services should always occur with dignity and respect.
  • Maintaining these objectives allows M’agine Support Services, to provide continued quality and effective services to each of our program individuals.

What makes M’agine Support Services, different from other HCS providers?
